After a year of planning, we launched CommunityChessed on Saturday 8th February at the Study Society/Colet House. In keeping with our ethos of inclusivity, kindness and spiritual engagement, this was a great venue to host our first event.
We announced the launch with very short notice because I knew I was leaving London the week after, so it was a small gathering of friends and some of their children, but it was definitely worth starting this initiative. Some chess novices, some older hands, great food that everyone brought along – overall, an inspiring experience!

Postscript July 2021:
I left London for LA a couple of days later, where I planned the next CommunityChessed event, but unfortunately, a few days after that the Covid lockdowns started worldwide, and we had to suspend in-person events. Little did we know that we’d still be in lockdowns 18 months later, but the pandemic’s mist is lifting, and now we’re planning our events again. Watch this space!
