Why CommunityChessed

Our Mission

Connecting Communities

There are many people that feel alone or disconnected: young people; single parents; and especially the elderly.

Increasing automation and omnipresent digital social media makes many of us feel only superficially ‘connected’, when we are actually engaging physically less with our fellow human beings. An ageing population don’t even get to say their only ‘hello’ to checkout assistants any longer. Young children are tethered to their ‘digital babysitters’ whilst older children are now more connected to their digital devices than people. Our mission is to increase awareness of this serious societal issue and provide platforms and initiatives to help alleviate this.

We need to help parents realign children to the real world, and help them engage with real people.

We believe playing chess would capture the imagination of the young, to help the old.
